MAKING MY NIGHTLY CALL

Running to you along warehouse walls
See how the human heart falls
She works until eight, so we won’t eat till late
I’m making my nightly call
To the woman I love

The doorman sleeps
While the elevator beeps
Up to the 16th floor
It’s too cold for fall, take your coat after all
Making my nightly call
And I always will

And she always will
Smile when she opens the door
And sometimes she even will bow
I see her all the time but I always want more
I get so excited, I just want her right now!

Holding her hand while we walk in the park
Reading our books in a café
It’s nothing new, but I still feel a spark
Making my nightly call
And it feels so good!

We know each other’s bodies so well
Not to mention our souls
There’s a smoldering fire
It’s burning like hot coal
Making my nightly call
You’ll make yours too!

She’s the one that I trust with my hopes and my schemes
I’m the one that she trusts with her life
I’ve known her forever
Well, that’s how it seems
How often in life do we get
To live our dreams?
